EVAS
Since 2004 Harrods Aviation has held a distributor agreement to be the UK supplier and installer of EVAS™ (Emergency Vision Assurance System). Customers include the UK MoD who realised the benefits the product could bring and purchased 45 units for utilisation on their nuclear submarine fleet.
Safety always comes first in the aviation industry, but is every flight department as prepared as it could be? Every day, somewhere in the world, an aircraft is put at danger due to smoke in the cockpit. In 1999 there were 990 reported incidents of smoke in the cockpit and of those 360 had to make unscheduled landings at airports unfamiliar to the flight crew. EVAS™ is the only way to ensure that the flight crew can maintain vision and safely control and land the aircraft when dense smoke in the cockpit cannot be stopped.
Harrods Aviation entered into its distributor agreement following a demonstration of the product in a smoke-filled cockpit simulator. The demonstration was so powerful that it certainly opened our eyes as to how effective EVAS™ would be in an emergency smoke situation. This is why we are now delighted to be able to offer our customers the opportunity to experience a demonstration at our Stansted facility enabling you to see for yourselves just how valuable a piece of safety equipment this small, relatively inexpensive unit is.
