Training
The Harrods Aviation Operations Training department has come a long way since its formation four years ago. We have progressed to consistent service standards between bases and vastly strengthened our training records to full files of up-to-date certificates and accurate logs.
The department regularly faces and passes external audits from sources such as customers, the Department for Transport, the European Security Inspectors, insurers and BAA. We are very proud of the audit record of such a young department and welcome the feedback to enable us to implement any suggestions making it a more robust and professional area of the business for the benefit of both our staff and customers.
The aim of the training department is to ensure our customer facing operational staff are trained to one consistently high standard. As a customer this will ensure you receive the service you would expect as a Harrods customer at both our Luton and Stansted operations.
To achieve such revered standards extensive training is conducted for new recruits and annual refresher training is attended by all other staff.
Customer Service training for new recruits includes but is not limited to: Health and Safety, airside driving, systems understanding, legal requirements, security and confidentiality, airport and ramp familiarisation, company familiarisation and customer services.
This programme is conducted over four weeks and is a mix of classroom training and on-the-job familiarisation and shadowing of a mentor. The progress of all new staff is closely monitored and after six weeks a practical evaluation of their development is conducted. At this stage any needs or uncertainties are addressed.
Harrods Aviation invests heavily in its people and their personal growth and development within the company. Business aviation is a very dynamic industry in which there is no substitute for experience. However, our aim is to empower our new staff with as much general aviation and job-specific knowledge as possible so they are ready to serve you to the best of their ability from the moment you arrive at our facilities.
