Holiday helicopter
When a Bell 407 landed at Stansted this summer and asked for engineering assistance, the request turned out to be more than a little unusual.
The helicopter had been flown into the UK by Antonov, in no fewer than four packing cases, and Harrods Aviation were tasked with its assembly.
The aircraft had been imported into the UK from the US for summer use in Europe and needed putting back together so it could 'buzz' across the channel and begin its holiday.
A little different to the usual state-of-the-art rotary technology Harrods Aviation engineers are used to, the aircraft was in one piece, certified and released by the owner’s pilot/engineer in under a week. The helicopter will be back in the Harrods Aviation hangar at Stansted after the summer to be disassembled and packed up ready for shipping back home. |
